Job Summary

The Shift Supervisor – Mechanical is responsible for supervising shift-based mechanical maintenance activities to ensure the continuous and efficient operation of plant machinery, equipment, utilities, and production lines. The role leads a team of technicians and craftsmen, coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance, responds to equipment breakdowns, and ensures compliance with safety and quality standards to minimize downtime and support uninterrupted production.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate mechanical maintenance activities during assigned shifts.
• Monitor the condition and performance of plant equipment and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Lead troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and rotating equipment failures.
• Ensure completion of preventive maintenance tasks according to the maintenance schedule.
• Allocate manpower and resources effectively to meet operational and maintenance priorities.
• Coordinate with production teams to minimize downtime and maximize equipment availability.
• Inspect maintenance work to ensure compliance with technical specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and shift reports.
• Ensure proper utilization of spare parts, tools, and maintenance resources.
• Enforce compliance with safety procedures, including LOTO, permit-to-work systems, and company HSE policies.
• Provide technical guidance, training, and performance monitoring for maintenance personnel.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience, including supervisory experience in a manufacturing or process industry.
• Strong knowledge of pumps, compressors, conveyors, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and rotating equipment.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical faults under shift operation conditions.
• Experience with CMMS/ERP systems for maintenance management is preferred.
• Good leadership, communication, and team management skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and maintenance manuals.
• Professional English communication skills; Hindi or Urdu is an advantage.
