Job Summary
The Mining Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and supervising mining operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective extraction of minerals and natural resources. The role focuses on optimizing production, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and oversee mining operations to maximize productivity and resource recovery.
- Monitor drilling, blasting, excavation, and extraction activities while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Conduct mine planning, production scheduling, and resource estimation.
- Analyze geological and survey data to improve mining efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate with geologists, surveyors, contractors, and operations teams.
- Prepare technical reports, production reports, and feasibility studies.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3–8 years of experience in mining operations, mine planning, or mineral extraction projects.
- Strong knowledge of mine design, drilling and blasting techniques, and mining regulations.
- Proficiency in mining software such as Surpac, MineSched, Vulcan, AutoCAD, or similar applications.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
- Ability to work in remote or site-based locations as required.
