Job Summary
The Quarry Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire quarry operation, including extraction activities, production planning, safety management, equipment efficiency, workforce supervision, and ensuring high-quality raw material supply to the crusher/plant. The role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge of quarry operations, and compliance with local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management

Plan, direct, and monitor quarry operations to ensure efficient extraction of raw materials.

Coordinate drilling, blasting, excavation, and hauling activities.

Ensure smooth supply of raw material to crusher plants and meet daily production targets.

Monitor stockpiles, material quality, and quarry output levels.

Manage the purchase, usage, and maintenance of heavy equipment and quarry machinery.
Safety and Compliance

Implement and enforce quarry safety procedures and PPE standards.

Ensure full compliance with local mining, environmental, and health regulations.

Conduct daily site inspections and risk assessments.

Lead safety toolbox talks and emergency response planning.
Team Leadership

Supervise quarry workers, operators, drivers, and technical staff.

Plan work schedules, assign tasks, and monitor worker performance.

Provide training and guidance to improve team skills and productivity.
Maintenance & Equipment Management

Oversee routine maintenance and servicing of excavators, loaders, dumpers, and drilling equipment.

Identify mechanical issues and coordinate with maintenance teams.

Reduce downtime and improve equipment utilization.
Documentation & Reporting

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.

Maintain records of blasting, fuel consumption, manpower, and equipment logs.

Track material movement, production costs, and quarry performance KPIs.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).

Minimum 5–10 years experience in quarry operations, including 3+ years in a supervisory/manager role.

Strong knowledge of drilling, blasting, earthmoving equipment, and aggregate production.

Understanding of local quarrying regulations, HSE standards, and environmental requirements.

Good communication, leadership, and team-management skills.

Computer skills: MS Office, production reporting tools, quarry management systems.
