Job Summary
The Lifting Engineer is responsible for planning, supervising, and ensuring safe execution of all lifting operations on site. This role ensures compliance with international standards, evaluates lifting equipment, prepares lifting plans, and coordinates with crane operators, riggers, and project teams to ensure safe and efficient lifting activities.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare lifting plans, method statements, and risk assessments for all lifting operations.

Evaluate site conditions to determine the safest lifting methods and equipment.

Inspect and verify the condition of cranes, lifting gear, slings, shackles, and related equipment.

Ensure all lifting equipment has valid certifications, load tests, and third-party inspections.

Coordinate with crane operators, riggers, signalmen, and site supervisors for smooth lifting operations.

Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and on-site guidance before critical lifts.

Review and approve critical, complex, and heavy lift plans.

Monitor compliance with HSE standards, local regulations, and industry best practices.

Investigate lifting incidents, near misses, and implement corrective actions.

Maintain records of lifting plans, equipment inspections, and daily lifting activities.
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Civil Engineering / Industrial Engineering (preferred).

Minimum 3–7 years of experience in lifting operations or heavy equipment management.

Certification in Lifting Engineering / LOLER / Appointed Person / Rigging & Lifting is an advantage.

Strong knowledge of crane operations, rigging practices, and lifting safety standards.

Familiar with UAE safety regulations and international lifting standards (LOLER, BS, OSHA, ASME).

Strong communication and coordination skills.
